Athletes Wanted For 2017 Henderson Games

Registration for the 2017 Henderson Games, which combines fitness and sports competition, is open through March 31 and is available online at cityofhenderson.com. Completed forms may also be dropped off at any City of Henderson recreation center. Registration is $15 per athlete plus $5 per event (with the exception of volleyball) and includes a commemorative T-shirt.

The Henderson Games is for adults (ages 18+) interested in camaraderie and friendly competition. The games take place throughout the month of April in a variety of locations in Henderson. More than 25 events are available to choose from, including racquetball; singles and doubles tennis and table tennis; team volleyball; pickleball singles, doubles and mixed doubles; and track and field sprinting, running, jumping, and throwing.

“More than 500 athletes took part in the 2016 Henderson Games, including local and out-of-town athletes of all skill levels,” said James DiNicola, recreation services supervisor. “The program provides something for everyone in the spirit of friendly competition.”

First through third place awards are presented at the close of each event. Event locations and times are subject to change.
