City of Henderson Hosting Open Auditions July 24 for Musical Production of Alice in Wonderland

Henderson, Nev. – The City of Henderson is hosting open auditions for a Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) musical performance of Alice in Wonderland from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, July 24 at Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris St. Those planning to audition should arrive between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to register. Participation is free.

Auditions are open to children and teens in kindergarten through twelfth grade to fill up to 60 roles in the production, ranging from actors to stagehands. No preparation is necessary as MCT actors and directors guide children through the audition process.

“The performing arts provide an opportunity for children and teens to develop their communication and social skills, sense of teamwork, concentration and self-confidence,” said Chuck Ashby, Outdoor Recreation supervisor and event lead. “Those selected to be a part of this memorable experience can expect an intensive week of rehearsals, culminating in two outstanding performances for our community.”

Children selected to take part in the performance are expected to attend rehearsals from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, July 25-28 at Valley View Recreation center. Performances take place at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 29 at the recreation center, with tickets going on sale onsite starting July 26. Tickets are $5 for children and seniors (ages 60+) and $8 for adults.
