Henderson Stroll ‘n Roll Returns Nov. 18
Henderson, Nev. – Henderson Stroll ‘n Roll, the community’s largest car-free street festival, bikes, walks, skates and plays it way back to Paseo Verde Parkway this year. The event, which will be held from the Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy., to Valle Verde Drive, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 18. Admission is free.
Henderson Stroll ‘n Roll is modeled after the world-famous Ciclovia in Bogotá, Colombia, transforming city blocks into a commuter-friendly neighborhood. With Paseo Verde Parkway closed to motorized traffic, families, friends and neighbors will be able to use alternative transportation, such as bikes, skates or scooters, to move, explore and play in the streets.
People of all ages will travel from park to park on two feet or two or more wheels via the closed roadway to enjoy a variety of activities. Entertainment zones will be located at Paseo Verde Park, Discovery Park and the Henderson Multigenerational Center. Each entertainment zone will feature a variety of fitness and lifestyle classes, interactive demonstrations, children’s activities, bicycle attractions, entertainment and food.
The Color Me Kind 5K will take place prior to Henderson Stroll ‘n Roll. The annual fun run, which brings local humanitarians together to celebrate the act of being kind, is at 8 a.m. along Paseo Verde Parkway.
The event is open to all abilities and fitness levels. The Color Me Kind 5K supports the city’s “Be Kind” initiative. Whether they run, walk or jog, participants will be doused from head-to-toe in pops of color at four different color stations along Paseo Verde Parkway.
The first 300 registered participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt. Early registration is $35 per person before Nov. 17, with day-of registration $40 per person. Use activity code 154180-58 when registering online or in person at one of the city’s recreation centers, or on Active.com.
