Lighten Up Henderson Weight-Loss Challenge Encourages Health and Fitness
Henderson, Nev. – It’s time to lighten up, Henderson. The annual weight-loss challenge hosted by the City of Henderson encourages people to lose weight for better health and wellness in 2018 and beyond. The 12-week program takes place Jan. 22 through April 14 and is open to anyone (age 13 and up) who lives, works, learns or plays in Henderson. Participation is $65 per person, and includes a three-month fitness room membership, one personal training session, three pool passes, one entry for the Cupid 5K Fun Run or Rover Run 5K to help you get and stay on track.
Registration and weigh in take place on the following dates:
• Jan. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the free Healthy Henderson Fair, hosted at Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy.
• Jan. 16 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Downtown Recreation Center, 105 W. Basic Rd.
• Jan. 18 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Henderson Multigenerational Center
• Jan. 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Dr.
At the challenge’s conclusion, participants return for a final weigh out to determine how much weight they have lost. Weigh out locations and dates are listed at cityofhenderson.com.
The individual in each age category (ages 13-17, 18-49, 50-64, and 65+) with the highest percentage of body weight lost wins a one-month fitness membership and a Nutri Ninja Pro blender.
