Recorder’s & Assessor’s Branch Office is Opening in Henderson City Hall Building
The County Recorder’s Office and the Clark County Assessor’s Office are continuing their efforts to improve customer service to local citizens by opening the new Henderson Branch Office located inside Henderson City Hall. The grand opening will take place on Thursday, March 23 at 10:30 am.
“There was a need for the citizens of Clark County to record documents or apply for a veteran, blind or surviving spouse exemption on their property. Providing these convenient services will benefit the residents of Henderson, Boulder City and Searchlight,” said Commissioner Mary Beth Scow, who represents the area.
The Recorder and Assessor will have two branch offices in operation. The Tenaya Branch located at 3211 N. Tenaya Way, Suite 118 provides services to Northwest valley residents, and the Henderson Branch will serve the residents in the Southeast valley and outlying areas. It will be located at Henderson City Hall at 240 S. Water Street within the heart of downtown Henderson. The Clark County Clerk’s Office will share a space with the Recorder and the Assessor’s offices. The Recorder and Assessor offices will be open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Clerk’s Office will be open only on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Another service coming to the Henderson branch office will be the operation of the remote Multipurpose Interactive Recording Kiosk. The Kiosk will allow customers to scan and record documents, and retrieve copies electronically without waiting in line.
“It is important to reach our customer base to provide these services within close proximity of their homes or businesses,” said County Recorder Debbie Conway. “By offering this service, it will save customers a drive to our downtown offices.”
“It is necessary to find ways to make government more accessible to the public,” said County Assessor Michele Shafe. “The Tenaya Branch and the opening of the new Henderson Branch will serve that purpose.”
Most of the services available at the main downtown office are also available at the branch offices. Having the Assessor, Recorder and Clerk’s staffs together in the Henderson office is a one-stop shop for residents to complete filings, receive certified documents, record homesteads, apply for veterans’ exemptions and record military discharge papers. As an added convenience, tax payments for the Treasurer will also be accepted.
