Registration Opens for City of Henderson Summer Youth Basketball League

Henderson, Nev. – Registration for the City of Henderson’s youth summer basketball league is available March 27 through May 18. Parents may register at cityofhenderson.com, by mail or by dropping off enrollment forms to any City of Henderson recreation center or the Sports office located at Arroyo Grande Sports Complex, 298 Arroyo Grande Blvd. The league is open to youth ages 8-18 for $66 per player (sibling discounts are available).
The city’s youth basketball league provides a well-rounded team sports experience for young athletes. The program helps to develop skills such as footwork, ball handling, passing, dribbling techniques, shooting form, and teamwork. The level of skill development increases throughout the program, but provides a solid and welcome atmosphere for new players in every age division.
Four age divisions of play are available: 10 and under (U10), 12 and under (U12), 14 and under (U14) and 19 and under (U19), with each division offering separate teams for boys’ and girls’ play.
Player ratings, for the purpose of team assignments, take place starting at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 20 at Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy., and at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 22 at Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Rd. Additional registration may be accepted at player ratings pending space availability.
Practices begin after June 5 and are scheduled on days, times and locations at the volunteer coaches’ discretion. The season kicks off the week of July 5 and concludes the week of July 24. Games are played at City of Henderson recreation center gymnasiums.
