Steamie Weenie is a Green Valley jewel

Gourmet Hot Dogs in Henderson
Chili Cheese Chili and Carolina Slaw Dog, just two of the “Old Classics” on the menu at Steamie Weenie.
By Mark Sherwood
If you live or work in Green Valley there is a very good chance you’ve seen the unmistakable “STeaMiE WeeNiE” logo. Not only is the restaurant located in one of the busiest shopping centers in Henderson, they also sponsor the Green Valley Little League and their outfield banners are prominently displayed at Arroyo Grande Sports Complex.
Aside from a memorable name, Steamie Weenie serves up unforgettable food. The menu features classic style hot dogs from around the country (Windy City, Coney Style, Tucson, etc.) as well as “new tricks” (More Cowbell, Mt. Fuji and Trailer Park among others).
So far I’ve sampled the Carolina Slaw Dog and Cheese Chili Cheese. They were both off-the-charts good. The Henderson location is the first of what could easily become a chain or franchise. The formula of offering top notch hot dogs with enough variations to please the most discerning diner appears to be working for husband and wife owners Bob and Jane Remington. July will mark one year in business and in that short time Steamie Weenie has built a loyal and growing following.
If you’ve been looking for a new lunch or dinner spot, then adding Henderson’s Nevada’s premier hot dog restaurant to your ‘favorites’ is a no-brainer. Although the Steamie Weenie offers more than a dozen gourmet dogs, they won’t bust your budget. A full meal with dogs, tots and drink is around $10.
