Summer Recreation Job Fair Offers Seasonal and Part-Time Opportunities

The City of Henderson Public Works, Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a summer recreation job fair from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 at Whitney Ranch Recreation Center/Aquatic Complex, 1575 Galleria Dr. Individuals ages 16 and up are invited to stop by, meet staff, and learn about more than 200 seasonal and part-time job opportunities.
Available positions include lifeguards, recreation assistants, senior recreation assistants and team leads with duties ranging from assisting with youth summer camps to lifeguarding at the city’s pools. Each candidate is encouraged to bring a photo ID (driver’s license or student ID), a resume if they have one and be prepared for an onsite interview. Lifeguard candidates who have not previously completed a lifeguard training certification course may be asked to take part in an in-water skills test.
“Most high school and college students start thinking about part-time summer employment in May or June, but we do the majority of our summer hiring in the winter and early spring,” said Adam Blackmore, recreation superintendent. “Our recreation centers and pools offer flexible hours and scheduling, plus a great work environment and team atmosphere. There’s no better place to spend the summer.”
Job fair attendees are encouraged to apply online in advance of the event at cityofhenderson.com. Some candidates will be hired during the event. A parent or guardian may need to sign paperwork for candidates under the age of 18.
