Teen Trips Provides Excursion-Based Activities

Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy., has launched an excursion-based program called Teen Trips. Open to tweens and teens ages 11-14, the program provides an opportunity for young people to visit local attractions and entertainment venues with their peers.
Monthly trips are $23 each and include round-trip transportation to the activity from Henderson Multigenerational Center. Registration is required at least one week in advance online (using activity code 151224) or at any City of Henderson recreation center or indoor pool.
On Feb. 17, Teen Trips heads to Strike Zone for an evening of bowling from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Registration includes bowling and the shoe rental.
The March 18 excursion features an afternoon at GameWorks from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes a two-hour game card.
The April 14 excursion takes teens to the Galleria at Sunset from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. for an evening of shopping, followed by hamburgers, fries and a beverage at Red Robin (included in the cost of registration).
“Finding things to do with your peers when you’re not old enough to drive can be a challenge, but Teen Trips fills that need with monthly outings planned specifically for 11- to 14-year-olds and their friends,” said Valerie Derrick, Recreation Services supervisor. “Parents can feel confident about the program because it is affordable and ensures participants are closely supervised at all times.”
