City of Henderson Receives Senior Softball Complex of the Year Award

Henderson, Nev. – The City of Henderson’s Arroyo Grande Sports Complex has been selected as the 2017 Senior Softball-USA Complex of the Year.
“The Arroyo Grande Sports Complex not only has all of the amenities of a top-quality facility, ranging from excellent lighting and concessions to pristine fields, but [City of Henderson’s] staff ensures the facility stays in wonderful shape,” said Terry Hennessy, CEO of Senior Softball-USA.
Hennessy continues, “It has been a pleasure working with [city Sports staff] through the past 20+ years. Staff consistently keeps the fields in excellent condition, which we don’t often see. Normally, after 5-10 years, the fields start to show wear and deteriorate.”
This award backs the City of Henderson’s assertion that Arroyo Grande Sports Complex has been one of the premier softball complexes in the Las Vegas Valley for many years.
Senior Softball-USA promoted the award at its annual convention, in its newsletter and in its 2018 tournament guide.
“This prestigious award is a tremendous honor for the City of Henderson,” said Rob Herr, P.E., director of the City of Henderson Public Works, Parks and Recreation Department. “Our department’s Sports section continues to demonstrate a commitment to our active senior adults in providing an array of recreational activities, sports programs and educational classes.”
Located at 298 N. Arroyo Grande Blvd., the 56-acre Arroyo Grande Sports Complex includes nine lighted softball/baseball fields, basketball courts, covered picnic shelters, BMX track, dog park, trail connectivity, and playground.
Senior Softball-USA is dedicated to informing and uniting senior softball players of America and the world.
