Henderson Police Conclude Joining Forces Event
Henderson, Nev. – Henderson Police have concluded an enhanced traffic enforcement effort designed to make roadways safer through increased patrol saturations specifically targeting impaired drivers.
The enhanced enforcement was part of the most recent statewide Joining Forces initiative that ran from May 1-7.
During the enforcement period, Henderson Police stopped 391 vehicles and issued 420 citations that included 248 citations for speeding violations, 12 citations for running red lights, 10 citations for cell phone violations and one arrest for driving under the influence.
This was the 12th Joining Forces event under the current grant.
The Henderson Police Department received $203,700 in federal funding through the Nevada Department of Public Safety – Office of Traffic Safety for the 2017 Joining Forces program. The grant provides funding for enforcement and education to reduce deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways. Enforcement events during the year will focus on pedestrian safety, seat belt use, speeding, distracted driving and impaired driving.
