Voter Registration Deadline for City of Henderson Municipal Primary Elections is March 14
Henderson residents seeking to cast a ballot in the 2017 City of Henderson municipal primary election must register to vote by March 14.
Registering to vote or updating registration information can be done online by any eligible resident who has a Nevada driver’s license or an identification card issued by the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles. Go to clarkcounty.gov/vote on the Clark County Election Department website to register online or update information such as address or party affiliation. To be eligible to vote in the April 4th Primary Election, online registration must be completed on or before March 14 by 11:59 p.m.
Eligible residents can also register to vote in person at the City of Henderson City Clerk’s Office or with any other municipal clerk, the Clark County Election Department, the Department of Motor Vehicles or any Nevada State Welfare Agency or WIC office. Information regarding locations is available online at the Henderson City Clerk page or by calling 702-267-1400. The Henderson City Clerk’s office will be open until 7 p.m. on March 13 and 14 to facilitate registrations. The eligibility requirements for registering to vote in Clark County include: must be a U.S. citizen, be 18 years old by Primary Election Day (April 4) and be a Clark County resident for 30 days.
“Registering to vote is the first step toward making your voice heard on Election Day” said City Clerk Sabrina Mercadante. “I encourage all Clark County residents to register to vote and all Henderson residents to make sure they show up to the polls for the municipal primary election.”
Early voting for the primary municipal election will take place March 18-31 at Henderson City Hall, Galleria at Sunset, and neighborhood voting sites. A list of early voting neighborhood sites and dates is available at VoteHendersonNV.com. Primary Election Day is April 4 with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters may cast their ballots at any of the nine vote centers located throughout Henderson on Election Day. Early voting for the 2017 general municipal election will be held May 27-June 9 at Henderson City Hall, Galleria at Sunset, and neighborhood voting sites. General Election Day is June 13 and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at vote centers.
Introduced in the 2007 Henderson municipal election, vote centers allow Henderson voters to cast their ballots on municipal Election Day at any of nine locations within Henderson. The vote centers are located throughout the city, offering greater convenience than traditional precinct-based voting.
